1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website www.miletech.eu, all software plugins, downloadable materials and related services (collectively, the "Services") provided by MileTech ("we", "us", "our").

By accessing our website or using any of our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

MileTech is an independent software company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or a subsidiary of Milestone Systems A/S, Honeywell International Inc. or any other third-party manufacturer whose products our plugins integrate with.

2. Definitions

• "Plugin" — any software component developed by MileTech designed to operate within the Milestone XProtect VMS environment via the Milestone Integration Platform (MIP) SDK.
• "Licence" — a time-limited or perpetual right to use a Plugin, as specified in the applicable licence agreement or purchase confirmation.
• "Customer" — any individual or legal entity that purchases, downloads or uses a MileTech Plugin.
• "End User" — any person who operates or interacts with a Plugin within an XProtect installation.

3. Licence Grant and Restrictions

3.1 Licence Grant

Upon valid purchase and activation, MileTech grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Plugin on the number of XProtect systems specified in your licence agreement.

3.2 Restrictions

Unless expressly authorised in writing by MileTech, you may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or attempt to derive the source code of any Plugin.
• Modify, adapt or create derivative works based on any Plugin.
• Redistribute, sublicence, lease, rent or lend any Plugin to third parties.
• Remove, alter or obscure any copyright notices, branding or licence information embedded in the Plugin.
• Use the Plugin for purposes other than its intended integration within a Milestone XProtect environment.
• Use the Plugin in any manner that violates applicable laws or regulations.

3.3 Trial and Evaluation Licences

Where MileTech provides trial or evaluation versions of a Plugin, such versions are provided "as is" for evaluation purposes only, may be time-limited or feature-restricted, and are subject to these same Terms.

4. Intellectual Property

All Plugins, documentation, website content, logos, trademarks and other materials are and remain the exclusive intellectual property of MileTech. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

Milestone XProtect, MIP SDK and related trademarks are the property of Milestone Systems A/S. Honeywell and Galaxy are trademarks of Honeywell International Inc. All other trademarks remain the property of their respective owners. Use of these names on our website is for identification and compatibility purposes only.

5. Orders and Payments

• Plugin licences are available for purchase by contacting us directly.
• All prices are displayed in Euros (€) and are exclusive of applicable VAT unless otherwise stated.
• Payment is due at the time of purchase. Licence keys are issued upon confirmation of payment.
• We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time. Price changes do not affect previously completed purchases.

6. Refund Policy

Because our Plugins are digital products activated by licence key, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you experience a genuine technical issue that prevents the Plugin from functioning as described and we are unable to resolve it within a reasonable timeframe, you may be eligible for a full or partial refund. Please contact info@miletech.eu within 14 days of purchase.

7. Support and Updates

7.1 Technical Support

MileTech provides technical support for active licence holders via email. Support covers installation assistance, configuration guidance and troubleshooting of Plugin-specific issues. We do not provide support for Milestone XProtect, third-party hardware or general network infrastructure.

7.2 Updates

We may release updates, patches or new versions of our Plugins at our discretion. Access to updates may depend on your licence type and support agreement. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain compatibility with supported versions of Milestone XProtect but cannot guarantee compatibility with future XProtect releases.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our Plugins are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

While we strive for reliability and accuracy, we do not warrant that:

• The Plugin will be error-free, uninterrupted or fully compatible with every hardware and software configuration.
• The Plugin will meet all of your specific requirements.
• Defects will be corrected within a specific timeframe.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MileTech shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, business interruption, security breaches or system downtime, arising from or related to the use or inability to use our Plugins or Services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to MileTech for the specific Plugin giving rise to the claim during the twelve (12) months preceding the event.

10. Third-Party Dependencies

Our Plugins are designed to operate within the Milestone XProtect VMS and may communicate with third-party intrusion alarm panels, access control systems and other devices. MileTech is not responsible for:

• Changes to the Milestone MIP SDK, XProtect platform or third-party firmware that may affect Plugin functionality.
• Hardware failures, network issues or configuration errors outside the scope of the Plugin.
• Actions, policies or service interruptions of any third-party manufacturer or service provider.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use our website or Services to:

• Violate any applicable law, regulation or third-party right.
• Transmit malicious code, viruses or any harmful technology.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, servers or other customers' data.
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the website or Services.
• Scrape, crawl or otherwise extract content from the website by automated means without prior written consent.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services or revoke your licence at any time if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must immediately cease using the Plugin and destroy all copies in your possession. Sections relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, disclaimer of warranties and governing law survive termination.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Portuguese Republic, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Portugal.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes become effective upon publication on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of our Services after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
